Frinton Jubilee Street Party
The Frinton Jubilee Street Party is taking place on Connaught Avenue in Frinton. It is a celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee, and it starts on Friday the 3rd of June. The event is going to run from 2pm to 6pm and it’s free to all. The Avenue is going to be closed to traffic and there is going to be a lot of free entertainment, charity stalls, fancy dress, bands, and even competitions. There is also going to be dance displays and rides, along with picnic tables set up. Glitter Fairies, Clacton represent us, and we are going to give kids free glitter tattoos. The whole event is going to be sponsored by local companies who are part of the Frinton Business Group and the Rotary Club, which helps to bring the local community together.
Who are the Rotary Club?
The Frinton-on-Sea Rotary Club is part of a worldwide organisation. There are over 1,700 Rotary clubs and they are home to 47,000 members. The Rotary Club helps to make sure that time, energy and passion is invested in the local community, and it also ensures that positive change is made where possible. The Frinton-On-Sea Rotary Club helps to raise funds for organisations, local endeavours and even churches. In this instance, it is helping to sponsor the Queen’s Jubilee Celebration.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
On the 6th of February, the Queen became the first monarch in Britain to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. She has completed over 70 years of service to those who live in the UK, and to celebrate, there are going to be a huge number of events and initiatives taking place. The UK is also going to celebrate a four-day UK bank holiday which is going to span from Thursday 2nd of June to Sunday 5th of June. The four days are going to include lots of public events and community activities, with one taking place right here in Frinton-on-Sea. There are also going to be a lot of national moments of reflection, to show support for the Queen and her 70 years of service.
